View Guidance →Weather-aware irrigation can adjust watering based on rainfall and changing outdoor conditions instead of relying only on a fixed schedule.
Rain sensors can tell an irrigation controller when rainfall has occurred. Depending on the system and programmed settings, the controller can pause or skip a watering cycle when rain or another programmed condition is detected.
ET-based climate control goes further by using evapotranspiration data. Temperature, wind, humidity and other weather conditions help estimate how quickly water is being lost from the landscape. The controller can then adjust watering to better match actual demand.
